Whitlee and Brad live in Chicago, so planning from afar meant lots of phone calls and emails back and forth between us. From the very first phone call with Whitlee, I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding day. She’s incredibly sweet and fun, and with our shared sassiness, we hit it off right away. I knew her fiancé (and now husband!), Brad, had to be as equally awesome, and I was thrilled to find out how right I was when I finally got to meet them in person at their engagement session (visit their engagement session blog to see their proposal story!).
From start to finish, their wedding day was filled with laughter and love for everyone around them, but together they have a beautiful energy that can light up a room. Their’s was one of those weddings that I hated to leave, had a hard time choosing images for the blog because I loved so many, and am still smiling as I edit them remembering parts of the day. I’m beyond excited for them and their life ahead!
W&B-Congrats to you guys!! xoxo
Whitlee and Brad decided against a first look, but still wanted to take some time together before their ceremony. They opted for some hand-holding behind a door at the church, and they were so cute and so excited for what was going to happen next!
If any grooms are wondering, this is how you react to seeing your bride for the first time. Take notes 😉
Sometimes, images don’t turn out how I expect when I set them up, but are a happy accidents instead. Sometimes, they end up being so much more beautiful than I imagined. Below, the sun was almost set, Brad was quietly whispering sweet things to Whit, and it was the first time I’d seen her cry all day. She was in the middle of burying her face in Brad’s shoulder, so the image lost it’s focus, but to me it feels raw and emotional…and it ended up being one of my favorite from the day.
The DJ started playing old jazz music, and Whitlee was dancing with her grandpa. Seconds into the song, he put his arms around her and kept telling her how pretty she was <3
