They met through their high school tennis coach but didn’t actually connect until a few years later. Stacey was in graduate school in Tulsa, and her weekends home were always jam-packed, but a Facebook message turned into lunch over Indian food, then, a few Skype dates later, they were official. A few years later, Stacey had just finished up a 2-month field research season in Nebraska and met Zak in Denver, Colorado to start a 2-week vacation traveling Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and South Dakota. On the third day of the trip, they drove to the top of Pike’s Peak (14,000+ elevation) – it’s a winding drive with steep drop-offs and teeny-tiny guardrails – and apparently Zak was not a fan of the drive! Once at the top, Zak walked them over to a secluded area to take in the view, and when Stacey turned to look at him, he was on one knee!
They tied the knot at Stacey’s alma mater, Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio, and their day could not have been more beautiful. They opted for a first look, had an outdoor ceremony at sunset, and were surrounded all day by the sweetest friends and family a couple could ask for. I’m so excited to share more of their wedding day! Congrats to the happy couple!!
