I have an amazing assistant, Lara, who is without a doubt my right hand lady. She rocks at life in general. As she grows in her craft and in this company, her place here has understandably gone from “intern” to “assistant”, which means the opportunity for intern here has opened!
I love being able to open up an opportunity for a new (or eager-to-learn-more) photographer to join my team and learn the ropes of being a wedding photographer. You get to have fun doing what you love, and I will share the tips and tricks of the trade. I’m always preaching that what we do as wedding photographers is SO important. We are providing couple’s with their first family heirloom, photos that will be passed down to their children and their children’s children, from the happiest day of their life! Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?! Plus, I’m a good time (seriously, I’m a hoot :). Not only will you get to go with me to weddings where you will learn more about photography and get to network with other amazing wedding vendors, but I’ll have you along to engagement sessions, a few clients meetings, and hang out Lara and I in the office to learn how to conduct business away from your camera, and you’ll also come along to networking events to mingle some of my favorite people in the industry, as well as a chance to be “on set” when I do my next styled shoot!
You don’t have to know anything about photography, I can teach you, OR you can know some stuff, but maybe just need that last little boost to get out into the wedding photography world. This internship is UNPAID, and you must be willing to give up a couple Saturdays a month to me in 2017 from April to November (wedding season). If your Saturdays are more important than this internship, then this isn’t for you (I want to stress this point, as in the past, I’ve had interns who didn’t realize what hard work goes into this job. The end result and reward is soooo worth it, but it’s still a job, and needs to be taken seriously 🙂
Some things we will cover during the course of the internship:
Camera basics (aperature, shutter speed, ISO, exposure, white balance, etc.)
Lighting (real and artificial)
Post processing and workflow
You must have:
Your own equipment (professional model DSLR camera, lenses, flash, etc.), OR if you do not own anything at the moment, you must be okay with purchasing as soon as you are hired
Motivation, drive, and a passion for photography
Reliability and punctuality
The ability to act quickly under pressure
A heart for serving others and a fun person to be around (we are serving brides and grooms on the biggest day of their life so far, and understanding how important that is is a must!)
Sound like something you’d like to do?! Awesome! To apply, click HERE to apply and fill out the form. I’ll be accepting applications until January 31, 2017. Can’t wait to hear from you!
